PARKES IMAGES PHOTOGRAPHY

Jodi Forestell

I love to shoot portrait photography! And the shot is always better when my subject is unaware that I am there. It's great fun and I am always honoured when asked to do it.

Andrew & Miranda

Andrew, Miranda and I met this past Saturday for the
first time at her mom's home in Bancroft.
As I walked into the house, I could only smell the turkey
that was roasting in the oven.
I was even invited to join them for dinner!

We first headed to Millennium Park in Bancroft.
Love that bridge!

When we were finished at the park, we went to the Eagle's Nest.
It's a look out with a view of Bancroft.
It is quite the vertical incline to drive up but totally worth it.

Miranda asked for a 'piggyback' shot.
To my surprise though..she wanted to give the piggy
back ride to Andrew! She's a tiny little thing and it was no
easy task....she a strong one!

Thank you to Adam Woodhouse for passing along my name to this lovely couple.
I look forward to your day in June 2011!

Jeff & Sheila

Jeff and Sheila won a portrait session with me at a silent auction that was
held at Buckhorn Public School.
Both of our children attend BPS so it was a treat for me to do portraits
for a local family.

Sheila loves her home and since they are moving very soon,
she wanted the portraits shot there.

They have a gorgeous property and I could have kept shooting
for hours at so many different locations.

Jeff and Sheila are a very large part of the Buckhorn community
making generous donations to a variety of events and structures.

Their little guy kept me moving but he did enjoy being a model.
This image is one of my favorites. I love that genuine smile!

Chelsea is one of their three family dogs. She has been
around the longest and was constantly asking to be in the portraits.
We finally gave in and allowed to be a part of the action.

This image is not the sharpest but I could not resist posting it.
When we finished shooting and were walking back towards the house,
I turned to see him taking off his shirt, belt and tie off...he couldn't wait!

Thank you Jeff and Sheila for inviting me to your beautiful home to capture
these portraits for you. It was so much fun.
Call me anytime Sheila to come and get those horse photos done!

Terra & Logan

Terra & Logan were married in Fenelon Falls on August 7, 2010.
Terra's gown gorgeous!
It had a shimmering blue hue to it and she could not wait to put it on.
Every bride chooses her shoes very carefully for the big day and
Terra was no exception.
Great shoes Terra!
The ceremony was held at Fenelon Falls United Church.
A very pretty church. I LOVE when a church has a balcony.
The ceremony was very emotional for their families and friends.
This couple is surrounded by love!

I did ask Terra & Logan to enjoy a long and solid long kiss so I could capture it.
They did...to the point where the congregation started to giggle.

Terra a was sweet and beautiful bride. I am sure her cheeks must have
been sore by the end of the day.
Smiles! Smiles! Smiles!

We shot many photos with the weding party. More than I ususally do.
This was at the request of Terra & Logan.
These people mean so very much to them.
The reception and photos were at Royal Resort in Fenolon Falls.
Terra used to be an employee there. It was beautifully done!

The girls!
Many giggles all day long!

The guys....need I say more?

Congratulations Terra & Logan!
You are a truly lovely couple.
I so enjoyed being a part of your wedding day.
Thank you so much.
All the best!

Andrea & Phil

Andrea and Phil were married on Friday August 6, 2010.
Camp Oneida is a Christian camp where the couple met
and it is here that they chose to exchange their vows.

During the ceremony, Andrea and Phil planted a tree.
As every guest entered the ceremony site, they poured a
wee bit of water into a watering can.
This would be used to water the tree during the ceremony.

It was important to Andrea and Phil to have an
outdoor ceremony overlooking Lake Erie.
Ten minutes prior to Andrea walking down the aisle, it began
to pour rain.
This is Andrea with a brave face, watching the rain fall
and hoping it would stop.

Not only did the rain stop but a beautiful
double rainbow appeared.
A sign indeed.

They asked for a few portraits on the beach.
The sun was setting creating this gorgeous glow.
I just loved the way the sunset lit them up!

As we were finishing on the beach, Andrea wanted
to wash her feet off.
Of course the tide wanted to be in on the action!

Without a doubt the best beverage cooler I have ever seen!

Finally it was time for the bride and groom to change their clothes
and head to the bonfire.
Songs, speeches and roasted marshmallows.
A most excellent way to end the evening!

Congratulations Andrea and Phil!
You are a wonderful couple surrounded by love.
All the best.

Portraits in the Park

Early this past Spring, I had my website re-done. To celebrate, I wanted to offer my clients a portrait special. I decided to take it one step further and donate 100% of the sitting fees to the Niagara Peninsula Children's Centre. My cousin's daughter (Ella) is a sweet little girl and they use this centre on a regular basis.
The response was fantastic!
In the end, twelve family portrait sessions were booked over four days.
Below are a few of the images of all the families who participated.

The Brens Family

The Harle Family

The Dick Family

The VanDriel Family

The Martens Family

The Coulson Family

The Phillips Family

The Clark Family

The Pilling Family

The Prinsen Family

The Warkentin Family.

Sweet Ella. This is the little angel it was all about.
At the end of our shoot, I handed her mom the camera and asked
for a photo with Ella. I normally prefer to stay behind the camera
but she is so special I just could not resist.
I want to thank all of the families who participated in
Portraits in the Park. This week, I will be sending a
cheque to the NPCC for almost $600!
I am so lucky to have such great friends, family and clients.
